Radiation Equals A Sore Throat

We saw Dr. Longo (Ace's Radiation Doctor) Wednesday.  All is going well, but he did say that "There is no way Ace will go through this without getting a sore throat."  He also again warned us that the discomfort will increase with each treatment.  So far Ace is doing very well. He is a bit tired and complains once in a while that swallowing is difficult.  Dr.  Longo also stated some statistics to us. He said 80% of people with the kind of cancer Ace has and the treatment Ace has are cured.  20% will have a reoccurrence of the cancer within 2 years.  Ace will be considered cured after 5 years.  We are optimistic and grateful for the good doctors we have had and the treatment that has effective.
